Welcome to the Patients’ Area. Whether you are insured, self-funding your treatment, or travelling from overseas for private healthcare, this section is designed to guide and support you. Our FIPO Patient Charter outlines the principles and expectations that shape the relationship between you and your doctor.

Why the FIPO Patient Charter matters today

The relationship between doctors and patients is under pressure. Healthcare systems are stretched, care is often split between many providers, business interests can interfere, and trust in the medical profession is weakened.

The FIPO Patient Charter  reminds us of what should never be lost: the doctor-patient relationship must come first. Patients have the right to make their own informed choices. Doctors must act with responsibility, skill, and compassion. Above all, medicine must always be practised in the patient’s best interests.

FIPO’s role is to protect, defend, and promote these important principles.
